Cool solution ldap search user not working for me

I’m trying to set up SOGo on another vm and want to authenticate via LDAP. I’m trying to create an LDAP search user as detailed in the cool solution here .

The problem is I always get an Invalid credentials (49) error.

Has anyone tried this recently and had success. Where should I be looking to resolve this problem? So far I’ve tried deleting the user and recreating with a different name and password, but that didn’t work.

I’m not sure what changed, but I ran the latest updates today and after trying again a few times and stumbling over a typo it’s now working. So might have been my mistake, or something with the updates, but either way I’m satisfied and can continue with my integration project.
