Vmare nextcloud cpu cores

hey,
does anyone have any knowledge what is the exact diffrence beteween allocating in vmare for the appliance of nextcloud
1 proceesor 2 cores
or
2 processor 1 cores each

in both option it means 2 cores.
there must be a differnce.

the proceesor i use is inte core 2 due E8400

Have a look at:

one thing to consider is also software licensing - some software is licensed on per socket base - so if you configure 2 sockets each 1 core you have 2 licenses consumed and with 1 socket and 2 cores only 1 license
