I have a working 4.4-1 server with Kopano 8.7.1. I keep up with all core and application errata updates when they are available. Today, I ran the upgrade process to 4.4-2. Now, Kopano /var/log/mail.log shows mail status=deferred, connection refused (127.0.0.1)
It appears that all of the Kopano services are running. I have tried power cycling the server. The behavior is the same.
Where do I start looking?

can you post the full line from the mail.log? Could it be that amavis isn’t running?

I found that clamd and amavis-new were no longer installed and running. I used univention-install to reinstall them and restarted the server. Checking with ps -A, they both now seem to be running.
But, here is the error messages I am receiving in /etc/log/mail.log:

Update: After reinstalling the clam and amavis applications, the Kopano system began processing mail. There was a delay of 20-30 minutes between the installation and activation of the amavis and the start of mail processing.
All things seem to be working now.
I don’t know why the 4.4-2 update would have broken these two applications. I need to dig further to see if anything else was affected.
