Can I use “apt --only-upgrade install samba” to upgrade samba only and resolve this issue?

As discussed via other channels, this can be done with:
univention-install samba-dsdb-modules
(And starting with UCS 5.0-4 there’s an additional package samba-ad-provision that can be updated additionally but that just contains a bunch of ldif files used for provisioning.)
Please note that for UCS 4.4 the maintenance has ended in March of this year (see End of Maintenance of UCS 4.4 | Univention), so you first need to update to UCS 5.x or contact the Univention sales team to discuss the details of an extended maintenance contract.
