Update on 4.3 shows postgreSQL 9.4 updates

Hi there,

I followed the guide https://help.univention.com/t/updating-from-postgresql-9-4-to-postgresql-9-6/8075 after the update from 4.2 to 4.3.
The latest univention-upgrade seems to bring back postgresql 9.4 (on master and backup, not slave, member).

The following packages will be upgraded:
 postgresql-client-9.4,postgresql-9.4

Is this necessary? Is it due to the missing purge of postgresql-client in the tutorial?

Thanks,
Bernd

Hey,

no, it’s because you didn’t remove the server package postgresql-9.4 in the first place. Otherwise the package would be listed as “The following packages will be installed” or something similar.

Yes, you can (and probably should) remove the client, too, but you really didn’t remove the old server package.

Hey M,

hm, well it’s a while ago and so my memory won’t let me argue against it.

Thank you for helping me with this.

Bernd
