Univention not providing uidNumber to Truenas although it is set

Hello and a happy new year to you all,

after a long time of trying to find my error in integrating a Truenas to my UCS domain I finally found the culprit:

[2025/01/02 23:37:57.451065, 10, pid=31943, effective(0, 0), real(0, 0)] …/…/source3/lib/tldap_util.c:399(tldap_pull_uint64)
Could not find attribute uidNumber

Truenas is telling me that it can not find the uidNumber from the UCS domain. Is there something I am missing because I can see the attribute when I do a ldapsearch from the UCS host.

Thanks for your help.

it works here without any problem… the truenas server started as truenas core, migrated to truenas scale, currently latest dragonfish.
I use the active directory connection to univention.

Thanks for that input, I am acutally happy to hear that this constellation is working for someone so I still have hope. Did you change any settings in Univention or Truenas to get it to work or was it out of the box?

And in what range is the user ID range?

it works out of the box.
I seem to recall that if you encounter errors when joining, it is important that you clean all previous traces of connection and reboot to start fresh. it goes without saying that your DNS should be resolving all AD/domain related SRV and TXT records.
the UIDs are different on the truenas vs UCS, but it does not matter to me, as all storage related aspects are on the truenas, including home directories.
