Univention-domain-join issues on ubuntu 24.04

Hi

I tried to use univention-domain-join gui on ubuntu 24.04
I have ucs domain name ad.muuga.lab.mlp.ee and martinl-test-adm user with domain admin rights.

The domain name text field has a low max character limit and I can only type in ad.muuga.lab
Also, I cannot use my domain admin user because - is not allowed in admin username field.

AD security best practice is to disabe built-in Administrator domain admin account and to use separate domain accounts as needed so I did that. I can log in with the martinl-test-adm account in ucs web console so it looks like a gui restriction.

Please fix the gui text input field restrictions. Is there a text based domain join tool or script I can use?

Thanks for the feedback, we will have a look regarding the limitation. In the mean time you can try to join with the provided commandline interface:

There is also a command line tool univention-domain-join-cli, which can be installed separately with the package univention-domain-join-cli. Run sudo univention-domain-join-cli --help for more details.
