We had some problems with the new Ubuntu domain join script
- the GUI version does not allow us to use an administrator name with a dot in it
- the CLI version fails to join the computer to the domain but reports success when the administrator used is not root on the domain controller. When this happens ldap_default_bind_dn is set to None in sssd.conf
- the CLI version reports missing logging module when a log file is specified
Are we supposed to be able to run this with the credentials of a user who has domain join abilities (the user can join windows computers to the domain) or does it have to be able to ssh the controller as root?
