Root DNS Problems

Hello,

I have this small issue I need help with. My doman (domain.com) has an A record point it to an IP address. But I want dns to point it to this same IP address even if the www is omitted when typed on a web browser.

On normal bind, I can enter a:

@ IN A x.x.x.x

How do I recreate same on the web interface of the UCS module. Presently, if domain.com is entered, just goes to a UCS default page.

Thanks in advance.

Hello All,

Still on this issue. My Domain Controller is pdc.domain.com, noticed if domain.com is pinged, it redirects to pdc.domain.com!

I would prefer it re-directs to my A record for my www instead of pdc

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hello,

the configuration dialog of a forward zone has a section “Ip addresses” which may be the point you a looking for.
see docs.software-univention.de/manu … orwardzone

Notice: It may be possible that this could break DNS for Samba 4, but I am not sure.

Best Regards,
