Problem: There is no possibility to rename an existing workgroup

Problem

You have a problem with renaming the Administrate workgroups. There is no possibility to rename an existing workgroup in the “Manage workgroups” module in the UMC.

Solution

After adding the group groppx in the Module → School administration → Administrate workgroups

Please find in the LDAP Module → DEMOSCHOOL unter groups and share your desired objects:

shares:

and rename it there:

groups:

share:

Get any further information about the objects with:

root@school:~# univention-ldapsearch cn=DEMOSCHOOL-groppXXX

Please be aware !!!

When renaming, make sure that the OU prefix is preserved and that group and share names are identical. Also pay attention to any other changes and adjustments that may result from the new name.

The “Groups” and the “Shares” UMC modules should be used to rename groups and shares.
The LDAP browser should only be used, if no specific UMC module for a UDM object exists.
