Problem
Samba will not start. There are a lot of possible reasons. One could be the memory is broken.
Solution
Please check the samba log:
dmesg /var/log/samba/log.samba |grep 'Out of memory'
If you find entries like that:
Please check the memory, resp. increase virtual memory, if your server is running as virtual machine.
