Problem: A Nagios check about the blktap devices fails on UCS 4.3-0 and higher

When starting the check manually you are getting an error:

root@ucs:~# /usr/lib/nagios/plugins/test_io.sh 300
ls: access to '/dev/td*' no possible: file or directory not found

Environment

You are running UCS 4.3-0 or higher. For earlier versions running with XEN as hypervisor the check is still valid.

Solution

The blktap devices are introduced by a XEN hypervisor and the Nagios check verifies the performance values given throughthese devices.

With current UCS (4.3-0) XEN is no longer used as hypervisor so you can safely disable these checks.
