Problem: Join Of Windows Client Fails

Problem

The join of a Windows client fails with an error message similar to:

“An Active Directory Domain Controller (AD DC) can not be found.”

Related to this is the following error when an already joined client is powered on:

“There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request.”

Solution

Make sure your Windows clients use an UCS server as DNS server to resolve the names. Verfiy on your Windows client by starting cmd.exe as user Administrator any type ipconfig /all.
The resul will look similar to the following. Verify your DNS-Server lines will show exclusively UCS servers.
