Problem
A software designed for Linux always fails during installation.
Environment
There might be entries like this in the applications install logfile:
sh: 1: rpm: not found
This platform is not supported. Exiting install.
This application is written only for “Red Hat Packet Manager” (rpm) based distributions. Debian based distributions (like UCS) use instead “apt” for packet management.
Solution
You might use tools like “alien” but there is no support nor any guarantee it will work.
Besides of this it is not possible to install this software on UCS. Contact the vendor of the software.
