Problem: How to define an external proxy

Problem:

You want to define an external proxy in your school slave but the requests are not forwarded.

Investigation:

Check these 3 ucr variables and the squid configuration file (/etc/squid/squid.conf):

ucr get squid/parent/host
ucr get squid/parent/port
squid/parent/options="default login=<username>:<password>

It is possible to check the connection via curl or wget.
http_proxy="http://aschein:univention@slave.schein.me:3128" curl -H "Cache-Control: no-cache" -H "Pragma: no-cache" -k -l www.google.de
To test via wget you have to edit the /etc/wgetrc file and set the proxy parameters:

https_proxy = http://proxy.yoyodyne.com:18023/
http_proxy = http://proxy.yoyodyne.com:18023/

To authenticate use the command line parameters as follows:
wget --proxy-user=aschein --proxy-password=univention http://amibehindaproxy.com

Solution:

In a school environment squidguard is running too, and it is the first instance for checking the privileges. If squidguard has already filtered the request, there is no need to ask the external proxy, too.
You should check the definitions regarding the internet permissions you have defined for classes, students and workgroups.
Reconfigure squidguard to allow Internet access according to your needs.
