Problem: Fetchmail always show a connection error
Situation
After installing fetchmail and adding settings to a user, nothing really happens. There are message like
Connection error for this call:
Name 0: Connection to imap.1und1.de:imaps [212.227.15.171/993] failed: The waiting time for the connection has expired.
Name 1: Connection to imap.1und1.de:imaps [212.227.15.188/993] failed: The waiting time for the connection has expired.
in the /var/log/syslog. This is most common when the specific use has no primary mail address configured and therefor has no mailbox to put e-mail in.
Solution
Check if you already have configured a mail domain for your Domain.
Edit the specific user and add his primary mail address; a mailbox is then automatically created.
