How do i know what protocol and destination to use when creating a printer share?
Good Afternoon Mannytz,
information about printers can be found in the link below:
http://docs.software-univention.de/manual-4.2.html#central:udm:example:printer
In order to recommend a protocol for you, I will like to know which type of printer do you have and how did you (would like to) connect it.
Regards
Anna
Its an HP Officejet Pro 8610 printer. I would like to connect it over a network.(It’s a network printer)
Good Morning Mannytz,
- The protocol can be http, ipp (internet printing protocol). In your case, http will be good.
- The destination is the IP address of the printer or server with the port number e.g. 192.168.0.100:631 or hostname e.g. ipp: //server:port/path
