i do not arrive in adding an new printer (HP Color Laser MFP 179fwg) in UCS 4.4-9 for the use with only windows 10 clients.
We only have windows clients, no linux system has to be able to print.
I added the printer in the umc console and i uploaded the windows printer driver successfully with the printmanagement.msc.
Point and print works, i can click on the printer in network neighborhood the driver gets installed.
But if i try to print, the printer prints PJL Commands.
Our other printers work with “Generic GDI Printer Foomatic/gdi” in UCS
Do i need the right CUPS driver in UCS if there are only windows clients? I also tried Generic PCL6 but with that the Job fails.
I have to admit that i never understood the mechanism of printing from
win-client → Samba → Cups → Printer
