Persistent "2 packages are erroneous" / Samba4 AD DC Installation Failure on Fresh UCS Install

Dear Univention Community,

I am experiencing a persistent issue when trying to install the “Active Directory-compatible Domain Controller” application on a fresh installation of Univention Corporate Server. The installation consistently fails, indicating problematic packages.

UCS Version: UCS 5.2-2 errata 118 Server Role: Primary Directory Node Environment: UCS running as a KVM virtual machine on Proxmox VE.

Problem Description:

After a clean installation of UCS as a Primary Directory Node, when attempting to install the “Active Directory-compatible Domain Controller” application from the App Center, the process consistently fails with the error:

“The following software changes on [hostname] will be applied: 2 packages are erroneous”

Clicking “More information…” reveals the specific packages: “- univention-samba4” “- univention-s4-connector”

As a result, the core Samba4 AD service cannot be found by systemd: systemctl status samba-ad-ldapd consistently shows: Unit samba-ad-ldapd.service could not be found.

My Goal:

My goal is to successfully install and configure UCS as a Primary Directory Node with Active Directory functionality, and then join Linux clients to it.

I am seeking assistance to understand why univention-samba4 and univention-s4-connector are consistently in an erroneous state during installation, preventing the core AD DC service from running.

Any guidance or additional troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your time and help.
