I just noticed that the OpenVPN4UCS app now has an exclamation mark in the App Center. It appears that this application is no longer going to be supported beyond December 2026.
This is very concerning for me, because the ability to use OpenVPN for secure remote connections into my server is absolutely essential.
Fortunately, I know how to manually set up OpenVPN, but this is achieved and managed far more easily by integrating support into UCS.
It appears that this app is open source and available on GitHub, although it’s not clear if this repo includes the full application.
Having key applications completely disappear, with almost no warning and zero alternatives, makes UCS an unreliable platform for long-term use.
Are there any plans to take over the development and support of this app, since the company behind it is no longer standing behind it?
