Must I use UCS master as name server for UCS clients?

Hello,

I joined some ubuntu clients to UCS domain controller. Is it possible to change the nameserver in /etc/resolv.conf on the clients to another DNS server? That DNS server runs dnsmasq, and forwards all requests to either UCS master or an external DNS server.

I did a grep in /etc on the linux clients, and the only place where the IP of ucs master appears is /etc/resolv.conf. So I think it should work, as long as dnsmasq replies to the queries with the same result as the UCS master would. But I am interested in learning from other fellows and UCS staff.

Regards,
Tony

Yes con use a local resolver like dnsmasq or systemd-resolved that is forwarding all requests to a UCS DC.
