Make the system executable again after hardware (hard disk system)

Hi@all,

I just changed the hardware configuration (VM) of a UCS installation (test system, not productive). As HD subsystem VIRTIO-SCSI (device=scsi) instead of VIRTIO-BLOCK.
This causes the device names to change:
/dev/vdX --> /dev/sdX
Labels are used in /etc/fstab, there is nothing to do here. These have not changed. I checked.

When I start the VM the bootloader comes, shortly the bootplash and after that I land on Busybox.

I already started the rescue with the UCS-disk and:

  • rewritten the bootloader
  • intitram rewritten

Didn’t change a thing. What needs to be changed to get the system to boot again after the hardware change

with best
sven
