Is UCS 5.0 abandoning SAMBA / Active Directory?

This announcement seems to say no more active directory integration or no domain controller features using SAMBA in the new 5.0 release. Is UCS totally abandoning active directory compatibility and features?

Later in the comments, the author says “UCS Core Services (examples are Active Directory compatible authentication…) fullfill an “everyday need” of many users …”

What alternatives do you see us using to accomplish what UCS has provided using SAMBA as a Core Service?

Hi,

you should read the blog post again: There will be no support of NT-compatible Domains domains in UCS5. But support of Active Directory will be remain. If you ask me: Of course. Removing the AD feature would be suicide.
