The rocket.chat app as offered in the App Center is far behind the current stable version.
Is there any updated planned for the Rocket.chat docker app?
Or is there a way for us to update the container via docker tools ourselves?

Maybe to save you some headache. The newer version of the Mongo database used in Rocket.Chat was not compatible with the older CPU flags available on my hypervisor hardware. So even the 3.18ucs version would appear to install but not actually run. I had to give up on Rocket.Chat and have installed the Synapse(matrix) app along with the Element App. It is very similar and my only challenge is getting it federated.
