How To:
Install VMware Tools in UCS
Note: The VMware Tools are published as OpenSource called open-vm-tools. There might be some minor differences to the official VMware Tools. VMware’s support policy regarding open-vm-tools is stated here.
Option 1 (recommended)
Use the UCS/ Debian-provided open-vm-tools by installing them through the “Univention way”:
univention-install open-vm-tools
Option 2
Install the VMware Tools provided by VMware by following the VMware Tools User Guide.
