Fileshare access only via IP, not via Domain

Hi,

I just installed a new ucs.
After setting up a share, a problem occurs while accessing from a windows machine.

Access over IP
\\<IP>\Share -> works

Acces over Domain
\\domain.dom\Share → no access, because of insufficient rights

Can anyone explain to me, why this is happening and how I can solve it?

Just noticed that access via fqdn works, too:

\\ucs.domain.dom\Share

Can still someone explain me the background: is it possible to distribute a share via domain and not via server-fqdn?

Hi,

very good question, was thinking about this some time ago.
Last I checked there was nothing in the docs but here’s something new:

Worth mentioning is the fact that this does not implement replication DFS-R yet :neutral_face:
