External DNS-server get lost

Hi there,
recently I’ve observed something strange on my UCS-5 servers.
Important to say: both DC’s are running in a VM on proxmox w/ sufficient RAM and CPU.
On both DC’s I have 2 pi-hole configured as external DNS server to filter DNS requests and ads. During normal operation this works like a charm…

For some reason, the external DNS server (pi-hole) got lost and external traffic was not possible, DNS requests did not get resolved anymore. Now I’ve had this effect 2 times again when both server went suddenly down because of an unexpected loss of power supply. YES, I’ve had this 2 times in the last days.

The “Univention Configuration Registry” has registered the pi-holes as “dns/forwarder1” and “dns/forwarder2”, but in this scenario the registry entries are not populated anymore to the network settings upon reboot.

Can somebody confirm this behaviour, and can this be fixed please?

Kind regards,
Frank
