Download Speed from Website and in UCS App Center

Hello,

over ownCloud i found UCS. All i found on your website sounded really good.
So i wanted to download the files the ISO and the VM, but there begun the problems.
All i could do was an starting download speed from 100-300kbyte/s and after ~5mins its dropped to 10kb or even lower.
I checked all components in house where this comes from, i use two ISPs which are seperate providers with a speed up to 250Mbits. My location its self is in Germany.

After i gotten nowhere i checked it with multiple VPN Server worldwide and gotten some results.

USA multiple VPN-server starting download speed ~6MByte/s dropped down after ~2min down to 10kbyte/s.
Germany multiple VPN-server same as without VPN directly with my ISPs

And then i found an working one.

France 10-16MBytes/s download speed throught the whole download.

And this is a problem i dont want to build an infrastrukture complety over VPN only to getting acceptable download speeds.

So i hope someone here can help maybe with this issue.

Hi,

as no one else ever reported any issues about this I doubt this is something Univention can change.

You might need to check a different computer or a different location to get a better download rate.

However I am somehow convinced it is an issue of your local setup.
I just downloaded the iso file through a German provider (LAN only on 10Mbit!) and got the following:

Thanks for you reply. I had allready eliminated an local issue. The download speed problem happens only at download from UCS. But this means not that its an problem directly from UCS itself.

So with this i could search for another approach another way. What if on of the servers between UCS and my PC is faulty.

This i had tested VPNs and like i wrote the one from France workeed like a charme with full download speed.

Tested following.

Connection without VPN following DNS-Servers

Telekom-DNS, Quad9 and Google not working

Cloudflare working without so i think from my geograpic location the DNS Resolution is maybe an faulty server or an overloaded one. When i have the time iam going to trace the route to find the faulty one.
