on our clients we use Linux exclusively. Except for a few problems that KDE Plasama causes with a user home over NFSv4, it works fine.
For the domainjoin we always use the script from:

I did this because I want to have NFSv4 with Kerberos 
Besides there is the package âUbuntu UCS-Joinâ.
Where exactly is the difference between these two ways of joining the UCS domain from a technical point of view? Are there specific advantages and disadvantages?
