Difference between the different Linux joins

Hi@all,

on our clients we use Linux exclusively. Except for a few problems that KDE Plasama causes with a user home over NFSv4, it works fine.

For the domainjoin we always use the script from:

as I described it here:

I did this because I want to have NFSv4 with Kerberos :slight_smile:

Besides there is the package “Ubuntu UCS-Join”.

Where exactly is the difference between these two ways of joining the UCS domain from a technical point of view? Are there specific advantages and disadvantages?
