Cannot update UCS with Kopano installed

I can’t update to the latest release of UCS when Kopano is installed… I had this issue on the last upgrade, but I attributed that to the trial key for Kopano Core. I removed via cli and the UCS upgrade went fine… I then re-installed Kopano with the cli and everything appeared to work.

Today I attempted to upgrade UCS to the latest release and the updater.log shows

I’m not sure what this means, but it appears to be the reason for the upgrade fail again… I will remove and try an upgrade again. I will report back with any additional info

any thoughts??

Hi @sgvfr,

it seems your Kopano subscription has expired. You either need to extend your subscription or deactivate the Kopano repository in the app settings.

No need to remove/reinstall the app.

Hi, Thanks! I did remove the subscription key already but that didn’t seem to make a difference… is there another place I need to do that?

is it possible to add a sub to the code to warn a user during an upgrade? or would that be more of a UCS feature during system checks?

Hi @sgvfr,

its not (just) about removing the key, but you also need to deactivate the repository. e.g. setting kopano/repo/kopano-core to false.

As long as the repo line is in your apt config and this one repo is failing (since it needs authentication, that you no longer have) this will block the ucs upgrade.

Sorry to resurect this old one… this issue has come up again… I verified there is no serial, and the repo was set to false.

attempted to upgrade to 4.4-4 today and all were successful except for this server hosting Kopano.

update…
so i went and set mdm, and smime repositories to false as well… tried to upgrade and set each one after a fail to false as well. Now the upgrade appears to be proceeding. Strange that i’ve been able to upgrade several times in the past without issue, but 4.4-4 is where the issues began.

In the end, every repository is now false, but will that stop from any updates being applied from now on? I would love to get a subscription but unfortunately with our user base it’s way outside of the budget at my volunteer organization.
