Add a local A Record to DNS for al local host in intranet

Hi,

is there a possibility to add a server to the intranet as DNS Name?
UCS is ucs.cd.local, the domain is cd.local.
I need add a host Name “test” with IP 192.168.n.n to the domain, so clients in the intranet find the Host if they use “test” in Browser or CLI
I havent found that.

This is done via the DNS module on the MDC (UCS v.4) or PDN (UCS v.5) server.

Hi,

I’m not sure: do I create for every host an new “DNS: Forward Lookup Zone”?
Because, that is the only one, what i can create and makes sense. The second ine is a reverse lookup zone -and this cant bethe right one.

Hosts that are joined the domain like a Windows client would be, should have both, forward and reverse DNS entries created automatically during the process. Other UCS servers added to the UCS domain during the installation/setup will have this taken care of as well. I’d recommend to review the admin guide if you have not had a chance to do it yet.
