The following: Located in Vietnam, we often have internet connections slower than snails due to the under-sea, as they break frequently. On top of it all, we got a new “internet security center” about a week ago. This leaves thousands of websites unavailable, but likely more as well I did notice, a lot of repositories.
“Starting univention-upgrade. Current UCS version is 4.4-3 errata385
Checking for local repository: none
The connection to the repository server failed: Configuration error: timeout in network connection. Please check the repository configuration and the network connection.”
AND
" An error occurred
Could not fulfill the request."
“Server error message:
Error contacting the update server. Please check your proxy or firewall settings, if any. Or it may be a problem with your configured DNS server.
Configuration error: timeout in network connection”
UCS is showing me, that updates are available,
This is for sure not a short time issue, as not even the repairs are scheduled yet and “internet security center” means in clear terms: a censoring center. The Vietnamese style is: Block all, what we not know.
I know, a week is usually fine and a month, if no updates are needed, but in the longer run, which realistic options do exist?
e.g download updates via ftp , http?
