Univention after upgrade new kernel would not start

My member server was on version 4.1-4 and I do not remember what kernel version.
Last working kernel version was
4.9.0-ucs103-amd64
With versions after that, all below kernels, system hangs with message:
Loading, please wait…

These are not working anymore
4.9.0-ucs104-amd64
4.9.0-ucs107-amd64
4.9.0-ucs109-amd64

I have to load the version 103 manually from Univention grub menu.

There is a disk encryption setup as well.
I can load into rescue mode though.

Removed splash option from grub config in /etc/default/grub and ran sudo update-grub
Fixed.

For some reason newer kernels did not like option “splash”, with splash option enabled, kernel hangs on step
