UCS@school 5.2 Beta has been released

The UCS@school 5.2 Beta has been released on our testing mirror.

You can now test the beta version of the upcoming UCS@school 5.2. New installations as well as updates from UCS@school 5.0 are possible.

:warning: Attention: :warning: The beta release is not covered by the support. It is meant to test and evaluate. All machines that run the Beta version should be considered unsupported and “to-be-thrown-away”: We will not support any smooth package updates to the official and final UCS@school 5.2 release.

In order to install UCS@school 5.2, you need to switch to the Test App Center: 3. App lifecycle — Univention App Center for App Providers

From there on, UCS@school can be installed as usual: 2. Installation — UCS@school - Handbuch für Administratoren

Caveats:

  • Not all Apps are currently supported for UCS 5.2. An update may therefore be blocked if such apps are installed.
  • We are investigating an issue with permissions on Samba shares when starting the exam mode.
  • The UDM hook ucsschool_role_computers.py currently triggers tracebacks when loading.
