Samba share dns alias

Hi,

I had make a dns alias, because I have a program with an old unc path in a DB.

ns lookup works fine.

Server: ucs01.int.fischmann.de
Address: 192.168.2.7

Name: UCS01.int.fischmann.de
Address: 192.168.2.7
Aliases: pc-02.int.fischmann.de

I can make a drive mapping with this alias name to a share, but I can’t open the unc path with the windows explorer with the alias name.
With the correct ucs servername it works.

Error: Can’t connect to the share. false parameters

Why not?

Serverinfo
UCS: 4.3-2 errata344
Installed: cups=2.2.1 dhcp-server=12.0 fetchmail=6.3.26 kde=5.8 kopano-core=8.6.2.1-2 kopano-webapp=3.4.21.1723 samba4=4.7 z-push-kopano=2.4.4
Upgradable: kopano-core kopano-webapp

You forgot about netbios name resolution. Create a netbios alias with

# ucr set samba/netbios/aliases=ALIASNAME

Hi, super vielen Dank für deine Hilfe… Hat geklappt. VG
