Problem
A ping works but the output shows an unknown name:
root@ucs:~# ping host.internal.lan
PING host.internal.lan (192.168.3.205) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from otherhost.internal.lan (192.168.3.205): icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.265 ms
64 bytes from otherhost.internal.lan (192.168.3.205): icmp_seq=2 ttl=64 time=0.402 ms
64 bytes from otherhost.internal.lan (192.168.3.205): icmp_seq=3 ttl=64 time=0.361 ms
Solution
Reconfigure your DNS reverse zone to match the PTR record for the correct hostname.
