Hi all,
I am totally confused. When I am logging in to my server named “ucs” I will have on the prompt always a wrong hostname.
I should have:
root@ucs:~#
but I get:
root@backupppc:~#
This is the hostname of a system running here as “IP-managed client”. Whatever I do I am getting the correct entry everywhere, but not on my prompt.
I checked:
- /etc/hostname (correctly showing ucs)
- /etc/hosts (no entry of wrongpc)
- ucr get hostname (correct telling me it is ucs)
- /root/.bashrc (prompt is set to \h which should be fine)
- DNS settings (“backuppc” correctly pointing to the correct IP of backuppc, same for “ucs”)
- DNS reverse is fine, too
I can browse without any issues to my server using the fqdn ucs.knebb.de If I do ping backuppc.knebb.de it pings the correct IP.
I am really confused- where is this coming from???
For explanation, have a look at this pic, it shows the console (the server is up und running fpr some days, so initially all was fine):
Thanks!
Edit: Additionally, I am getting this error message on UMC after idling for a while:
Edit2: /usr/share/univention-samba4/scripts/check_essential_samba4_dns_records.sh
does not report any errors.
