Export Users (Names and Usernames) from Univention

Friends good afternoon, I have a client that was installed an Univention by me about 2 years, but they hired another person to manage the IT of that company and the same ended up destroying Univention, causing clients to lose the trust relationship with server among other serious problems.
For this reason I decided to reinstall Univention from scratch, with the most up-to-date version, but to make my life easier, I would like to know if there is any way to export users and their full name so that it can be uploaded in the new VM in a simplified way.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

Sincerely, Tácio Andrade.

Hey,

there’s no ready-to-use software you can simply run. However, there’s the udm command-line tool that can be used both to export properties of all existing users on the old machine and to create new users on the new machine. You’ll just have to do some scripting around it.

Kind regards
mosu

Thanks a lot for the tip, I’ve already used udm to create the hosts, but I’m not finding a way to export the information, how could I pass which command could I use to export only the users?

PS: I found the command to list users:
udm users / user list
Thanks a lot for the help. = D

You’re quite welcome. You can see all functions/modules udm supports by simply executing udm modules.

Yes, I made use of grep and cut and got the full name of the exported users, as well as username and making use of “udm” I added all users with a default password and it worked well!

Thank you very much. = D
