Domainjoin through OpenVPN possible?

Hallo zusammen,

kann ich eigentlich, mit einem Windows Notebook und aufgebauter OpenVPN-Verbindung, mit dem Gerät der UCS Domäne beitreten als würde ich im LAN sitzen?

This method may work with other VPN clients, so long as they have the option to connect to the VPN before logon, but this explanation uses only the Windows built-in VPN client.

Hi,

several other sites mention OpenVPN should be running as a service on the windows client. Did you try that? This way I guess it should work.

Are you trying this for a single machine or will there be a couple of clients?

For a single machine - why not just moving the PC to the LAN and join there? Once joined everything should work painless.

Otherwise I would suggest to open a Site2Site VPN- once setup no further issues…
