Dhcp stopped with second nic

Hello everyone,

im playing around with the univention. My goal is to have 2 nics one is internal network and the second one is for internet connection.

So the installation was made with one nic and as a static config at the end i added the samba domain, dhcp and kde ui.

After installation i added a client in dhcp and it worked without a problem. When i added the second nic and restarted my server dhcp stopped.

I also checked /var/log/dhcp-ldap-startup.log and /var/log/daemon.log but dhcp-ldap…log is totally empty and the daemon.log only says configuration file errors encountered.

Does anyone know this problem and can give me some hints?

Hi again,

its not the added nic that causes the error but its the second dns i added. After I added second nic univention suggest the new dns server. First DNS is 192.168.0.1 and the second is 8.8.8.8.

Those 2 are Domain-DNS-Servers. When i remove 8.8.8.8 dhcp is working but you cant resolv any website. The 8.8.8.8 is in the network config as a external-dns-server already listed. Doesnt work though.
